What a wishy-washy title for a subject.
It’s all mathematics, but nobody dares to say it, so it is taught as if it is a bloody art.
One of the chaps at D’s Christmas Party was a DT teacher at a Secondary School in East Oxford (the badlands). He talked as if he were Michelangelo. He actually said, “design is about intuition.”
What rubbish. And, how does he propose to teach “intuition”? By sprinkling fairy dust over the class?
He doesn’t understand, and he is passing on that lack of understanding as if it were knowledge. How can that be?
That man is a threat to British invention. Grrrr.
